The new Division of Provinces in Canada reflects the changes in Quebec Province. The province of
Quebec is divided into regional county municipalities, territories, and new amalgamated cities(ville).
Quebec used to be divided into counties, but in early 1980's switched over to a new system of county municipalities,
which does not follow previous county borders, and only a few have kept names. There are 17 Regions Administrative.
These 17 regions include 100 MRC (Municipalite Regionale de Comte). Each region has from 1 to 10 MRC. Of the 100 MRC 73
are regula MRC (which includes municipalities, villages, cantons, rural areas and non organized territories).
There are 14 cities. There are 13 MRC totally or Partly in a Metropolitain Urban Community: CMQ (communities metropolitain
of Quebec (Greater Quebec city)) or CMM (communities metropolitain of Montreal )Greater Montreal city)).
